Christchurch's Eastern Suburbs Are A Happening Place!

Mapping the aftershocks since the big Valentine's Day earthquake in Christchurch, NZ. Christchurch's eastern suburbs are a happening place! Not much activity on the strike/slip Greendale Fault to the southwest - it's all that thrust activity to the east. The big picture appears to be that assymetrical continental drift from the northeast is rotating counterclockwise a chunk of continental crust on which Christchurch sits, and meeting resistance.
